Alabama - based creative, dreamer, story-teller, and magic maker.
Madeline Sandlin is an artist, retail entrepreneur, stylist, and content maker based in North Alabama.
Her work favors intuition over precision. Abstract shapes, loose line work, and an intentional sense of naivety run throughout her practice, allowing pieces to feel open, curious, and unguarded. Influenced by her Greek “Yiya” and her late mother—who spent years creating abstract work on impractical surfaces—Madeline approaches art without reverence for rules, but with respect for process.
With a background in classical ballet, she is familiar with structure and discipline, but often chooses to push against them. That tension—between control and freedom—appears in her work through playful composition, imperfect forms, and an almost childlike use of line and color.
Working across mixed media, her pieces range from androgynous faces to expressive studies, inviting the viewer into a space that feels honest, instinctive, and lightly undone.
abstract.
Madeline is drawn to abstract forms and fine lines, allowing the work to exist without over-definition. Her practice moves between androgynous faces and expressive line work, shaped by a playful, intuitive sense of color and form. Working across mixed media, her pieces strike a balance between instinct and intention, inviting curiosity rather than explanation.
art direction.
Madeline strives to weave more humanity into brand expression.
She flips the right switches, turns the right dials.
The results are forward-thinking, financially documented, and quick.
